SAT Scores in Charlotte NC 2012

Families relocating to the Charlotte, NC area are always interested in SAT scores and finding Charlotte’s top-ranked Charlotte high schools.  I have compiled the table below of SAT scores for the Charlotte NC and Union County area for 2012, so families can see for themselves how students perform on this national test.  I culled the data from a huge SAT report from the NC State Board of Education,  pulling out SAT scores from all Charlotte NC public high schools, and from nearby public high schools in Union County.  The table below shows the top 20 scoring Charlotte and Union County public high schools for the SAT in 2012.  If you want the full table, please email me and I will send it to you.

Providence High School in South Charlotte Ranks #1 on SAT Scores in 2012

As in years past, Providence High School SAT scores for 2012 rank higher than other Charlotte or Union County area public high schools.  Tied for a close second in SAT scoring are Ardrey Kell High School and Myers Park High School.  Marvin Ridge High School, a newer public high school in Union County, ranked 4th out of area schools.  Out of the top 20 scoring high schools, 13 are located in the South Charlotte area or in Union County.

14 area schools out-performed the national average SAT score of 1498, and 18 scored above or tied the average NC SAT score of 1469.  The Union County average surpassed the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools average, but the sample of schools is much lower in Union County.

Buy a Home in a Top School District in Charlotte

If you are relocating to the Charlotte area, and would like to look for a home to buy in a top-ranked school zone, you should use the table above as a guide.  This table of Charlotte NC area SAT scores for 2012 provides just one indicator of a high school’s success, but these SAT scores are pretty much in line with other test scores.  Since great public schools are a highly desirable factor in the home-buying process, it makes sense to buy a South Charlotte home in the best school district you can afford!  Great public schools are part of the LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION mantra of real estate!
